Towers

Towers is a nice XC site with a spicy landing.
Starting on a plateau, Towers sets you up for lots of XC options, including a flight over the Glass House Mountains. Because of a tight launch and a tricky bombout, this is a PG4 rated site.
Safety Hazards
- The launch area as small with a fence, trees, powerlines and tower directly behind.
- There is a steep drop off in front of launch
3. Please check the landing area before launching to identify a number of hazards:
- Rocks and boulders
- Power lines cross landing area and run up the hill (marked on map)
- A ditch runns along NE of landing area
- Can be tight and thermic

A small cliff launch with space for only one wing. There is a tower and fence behind launch.

The designated landing area is marked on the map (right).
First landing area:
- Beware of the powerline over landing area approach, gulley running along side landing area.
- In an easterly, this landing area can produce rotor and be dangerous. Head to the second (lower) landing to the west if this is evident.
Second landing area:
- If you cant make the first landing area, head for the paddock below and land in a safe area.
- Be aware of undulating land, gullies and two dams.
Site Rules
This is a PG4 site.
The launch is public land, owned by police and council who allow us to fly here. Both landing areas are private land. Please follow site rules and be respectful of residents.
- Be mindful of residents at towers.
- Limit cars going up to launch and parking there (car pooling is recommended)
- Don’t fly to close to houses on ridge as they don’t like us.
- Drive slowly on the dirt road to launch.
- Do not park any cars on grass at mezzanine (first landing area) and limit cars that are parked down there on side of road.
- Pack up and move on quickly upon landing.
