Site Badges
Custodianship and site inductions.
Moffats Custodian
Keeper of the Moffats keys. Knows where the gate key lives, what the grass is doing, and which way the wind actually blows versus what the forecast claims.
Carties Custodian
Guardian of Carties. Fields the "is it on?" calls, and answers honestly even when the answer disappoints.
Carties Inducted
Has been shown the ropes at Carties and can be trusted to launch, land, and leave the gate as they found it.
Sunrise Inducted
Signed off for Sunrise. Knows the launch, the hazards, and the one paddock you do not land in.
Club Roles
Club-wide recognition, not tied to any one site.
Senior Safety Officer (SSO)
The final word on "should we be flying today?" Carries the club's collective judgement, and occasionally the club's collective disappointment.
Safety Officer (SO)
On the ground, on the radio, and quietly counting canopies. Keeps the fun from becoming an incident report.
Mowing Legend
Has fought the grass so you could launch. No cheering crowd, no thermal, just a mower and a hot afternoon.
Site Maintainer
Fixes the windsock, the fence, the track and the signage. The reason our sites still exist.
Inland Feats
Widgee, Buchy’s and the country out the back.
Blacksnake Charmer
Made the tree crossing west of Widgee launch. Committed to the green, came out the other side, and has been talking about it ever since.
Southern Sendah
Crossed the trees heading south out of Widgee. Pointed at the least reassuring part of the sky and went anyway.
Buchy’s 2 Widgee Womple
Launched at Buchy's and arrived at Widgee. Two sites, one flight, zero retrieve drama.
Widgee to Gympie
Made it to Gympie under a wing. Civilisation, reached the hard way.
Widgee to Beach
Started inland, finished with sand in the harness. The full width of the map in one flight.
Solar Sendah
Out and back to the solar farm. Renewable energy, powered by a different kind of renewable energy.
Le Petite Tour du Widgee
Closed the small triangle around Widgee. Modest in size, immodest in the retelling.
Le Grand Tour du Widgee
Closed the big triangle. The whole day, the whole sky, and three turnpoints that did not want to be rounded.
Widgee 100k Club
Widgee to Gayndah - a hundred kilometres of staying patient, staying high, and not landing at 94.
Widgee 200km Club
Two hundred kilometres. The rarest air in the club. If you have this, you do not need to mention it - but you will.
Cloud Candy Connoisseur
Addicted to vitamin C infusions. Has been inside the white room and come back out with a story. This badge is recognition, not encouragement.
Coastal Feats
Rainbow, Teewah and Double Island.
Rainbow Pyramid
Got all the way to Pyramid hill at Rainbow. The catch: Rainbow works SE-NE, and the Pyramid face will not soar in any of it. Easy to picture, hard to do.
Rainbow 2 Teewah Holy Grail Womple
Left Rainbow, connected the Teewah ridge, and landed at Teewah. The one everyone talks about attempting.
Teewah to Double Island Womple
Teewah to Double Island, over the Pyramid, landed on the island side. A long way from the car.
Teewah to Rainbow Mythical Womple
The reverse crossing. Never been done. This badge has no holders and may never have one - which is exactly the point.
