North End Sunshine Beach

Overview    Safety Hazards    Launch & Landing   Site Rules    Permits & Exemptions

North End is a small site with a set back launch

One of the few SEQ sites that takes a southerly, North End is conveniently close to Noosa.

Safety Hazards

  1. This is a relatively small site, and as such there is only room for a small number of pilots flying at any one time. Please discuss the take off options and flying conditions with a Club Safety Officer before flying.
  2. Rotor can occur on launch in a southerly due to it being set back behind the dunes.

3. While traversing the rocks to the north, be aware there are no landing areas.
4. If the winds swing SE, the south facing hills and launch area tend not to create lift. When heading back to launch along south ridge, you will be tailwind with little or no lift.
